Police are hunting thieves who stripped an Angus garden bare of 37 gnomes.
The bizarre theft took place in the town’s Brechin Road between April 23 and 30, leaving their elderly female owner upset by the incident.
The small gnomes were swiped from the front garden of a property in the street.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Although they are of little monetary value, their owner is an elderly lady who is understandably upset at being the victim of this theft.
“If someone has taken them as a prank or because they think it is funny, we can assure them that it is not.”
