A man has sustained a serious facial injury after being assaulted at an Angus caravan park.
Police spent several hours at Thrums Caravan Park at Maryton by Kirriemuir on Tuesday afternoon following the incident.
Witnesses reported multiple police vehicles in attendance and the site was sealed off while officers including experts dressed in white suits combed for clues.
One witness said: “There were at least three police vans and three police cars.
“The caravan site was cordoned off and there were police everywhere.
“Scenes of crimes officers in white suits appeared to be looking for clues.
“It doesn’t look good and would appear to be something very serious.”
Officers left the scene by late afternoon.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland attended at Maryton, Kirriemuir after a man had been seriously assaulted.
“He has been taken to hospital and enquiries are ongoing.”
The caravan site has 16 residential pitches and the site licence was transferred last year to M B Developments from Blairgowrie.
