A pedestrian was knocked down by a car in Forfar Road, Arbroath in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at about 12.20 am near the Ashbrook Nursery and the road was closed.
The pedestrian was struck by a small, blue coloured car and suffered non life-threatening injuries.
The road was re-opened at 5.30 am.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a man, wearing a dark coloured suit, walking on the Forfar Road towards Colliston, or who may have seen the car prior to the collision.
Witnesses are asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 0142.
