Five fire appliances attended Castle Street in Forfar after a report of a collapsed roof.
Slates from a double dormer roof were falling to the ground during high winds.
The incident was reported at 1.37pm leading four pumps and a special appliance to attend.
Part of the street was also blocked off.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We received a report that a double dormer roof had collapsed.
“We sent five appliances and a structural engineer to the incident.”
It is understood that no one was injured.
