Coastguard personnel and the Arbroath lifeboat crew were called out to a fishing vessel shortly after 9am on Sunday.
A call came in at 9.15 am for medical assistance.
Coastguard Rescue Teams from Montrose, Arbroath and Carnoustie were tasked along with the RNLI which was requested to launch the inshore lifeboat.

A casualty with suspected heart conditions was conveyed by boat back to Arbroath harbour and passed to the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Teams and crews stood down.
