Stonehaven RNLI volunteer crew were scrambled after a vessel got into difficulties on Sunday afternoon.
They were paged just after 4.30pm by Aberdeen Coastguard to assist a fishing vessel off Dunnottar Castle that had been having propulsion issues.
The RNLI boat Aunt Betty was quickly launched with crew Keith Gaskin, Adam Howie and Michael Reading on board to assist the vessel.
The volunteers escorted the stricken vessel back into Stonehaven harbour.
