A lifeboat which fell off the side of a merchant vessel was found in the sea by a fishing vessel off the coast of Arbroath.
The lifeboat had fallen in bad weather and the fishing vessel came upon it and decided to tow it back to Arbroath Harbour.
However, it was struggling with the towing operation and Arbroath’s inshore lifeboat was called out around 2.50pm on Wednesday to assist.
The towing operation was a success.
