A body believed to be that of missing Forfar man Raivo Ecetajs has been found in the town.
Police Scotland said the body of a male was discovered in Forfar on Tuesday, almost two weeks after the 43-year-old delivery driver was last seen.
Locals had been urged to check outbuildings, sheds and garages after police expressed concern for the welfare of the Latvian national, who had been described as “one of the nicest guys you would know.”
Angus area commander, Chief Inspector David McIntosh, had said Mr Ecetajs’s disappearance was out of character.
Through his job as a deliver driver, he was well known in the local area.
The location of the body find has not been confirmed, but a Police Scotland spokesman said: “While formal identification has yet to take place, the family of missing person Raivo Ecetajs have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
