A man was airlifted to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee on Thursday after falling from a cliff in Arbroath.
Aberdeen Coastguard Operations Centre received a call for assistance from the Scottish Ambulance Service just before 4pm after the alarm was raised.
Arbroath, Carnoustie and Montrose Coastguard Rescue Teams were scrambled along with Arbroath all-weather and inshore lifeboats and rescue helicopter 951 from Inverness.
The injured casualty found to the north of ‘Red Head’ on an outcrop after additional information was received that a person had fallen from height in the area.
Coastguard teams gave first aid along with Arbroath RNLI who landed their paramedic crew members to administer pain relief.
The crew put the casualty on a stretcher before he was extricated by winch and conveyed by helicopter to Ninewells for further treatment.
The casualty was thought to have fractures but was otherwise in good health.
