Two males have been charged after a major police operation in Arbroath.
Police Scotland confirmed that two men aged 36 and 39, who were arrested at an address in Strathairlie Avenue, on Wednesday evening have been charged in relation to an alleged serious assault which happened earlier in the town’s Sidney Street.
They have been kept in custody and are due to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court on Friday.
A police spokesman said: “Both incidents caused considerable disruption for local residents of those areas, and we would like to thank those affected for their patience and understanding while they incidents were dealt with.”
Sidney Street was cordoned off for much of the day after reports of a stabbing.
