Traffic was reduced to one lane on a busy section of the A90 near Brechin on Friday following a collision between a people carrier and a horse transport lorry.
The incident occurred just after 1pm on the south bound carriageway at the north end of the Brechin bypass.
Significant damage was caused to the front of the car but there are no reports of any injuries.
One lane of the carriageway was closed for a short time.
A police spokesman said: “Two vehicles were involved, one was a horse transport lorry with a horse inside.
“Those involved got off the carriageway right away and the road was not blocked.
“The incident was dealt with quickly and there is nothing to suggest the horse was injured.”
