Police are investigating after two young girls were asked to get into a stranger’s car in an Angus village.
As reported in The Press and Journal, a silver Ford Ranger approached the pair – aged seven and nine – on Edzell High Street on Monday at about 4.30pm.
The man driving the vehicle is said to have told them “you’re coming with me”.
The incident took place near the village’s petrol station.
After police were informed, the car was identified using CCTV.
The mother of one of the girls said: “They said that just a minute or so before I arrived, a car pulled over next to them and the driver, a man, said ‘you’re coming with me’.
“They then ran off, and when I met them shortly after they were quite shaken.”
Anyone with information is being asked to call police on 101.
