A man has died following a major emergency incident in Forfar.
Police, fire and ambulance services – including the air ambulance – were called to Orchardbank Business Park at 10.30am on Friday after an accident involving an oil tanker.
Part of the A90 beside the site was closed to allow easy access for the emergency vehicles and the area was cordoned off for several hours.
Sadly, police have confirmed a 29-year-old man died in the incident.
A spokesman said: “His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them.
“Enquiries are continuing and officers are liaising with the Health and Safety Executive. As with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
The incident happened at the Oilfast depot. The firm is a domestic and commercial fuel provider, with depots across Scotland.
Speaking on Friday, an Oilfast spokesman said it would be inappropriate to comment “at this time”.
