Scottish Fire and Rescue Services were called to the north side of the Sidlaw Hills at just after 6pm on Friday, March 29, and six units tackled a blaze which occurred when gorse and heather caught fire.
A crew will return to investigate the site in the daylight tomorrow, the service confirmed.
A spokesperson said: “We were called at 6.03pm to a hill fire at the Sidlaw Hills.
“Six appliances attended the scene and left at 9.20pm.
“SFRS will return to the site tomorrow in the daylight.”
