Five youngsters have been charged with reckless conduct and vandalism at an Angus kirk.
Police and firefighters were called after the youths, all male, were spotted on scaffolding at Gardner Memorial Church on Brechin’s South Esk Street on Monday at about 10.45pm.
A fire and rescue spokeswoman said an appliance was called to the scene to help remove the five youngsters from the roof of the building.
She added: “We were there, there was a couple of youths on the roof. We got the call at 10.45pm. They were taken down from the roof using a ladder.”
Police said the youngsters were cautioned and charged with culpable and reckless conduct and vandalism.
