Firefighters are still monitoring the scene of a blaze which broke out on a Tayside hill on Monday evening.
Crews were called to the Sidlaws at about 9pm following reports of a grass fire on the hilltop.
Three appliances were sent to the scene from Macalpine Road, where they used beaters to bring the flames under control.
Due to a lack of light firefighters left the scene at 10.55pm and returned at about 5am.
They left the scene at 6.45am before returning for a third time at 10.45am following further reports of smoke on the north side of the Sidlaws.
One team from Macalpine Road currently remains monitoring smouldering pockets of the grass blaze on the hill. The area where smoke was spotted rising from on Tuesday morning is inaccessible to firefighters.
A fire and rescue spokeswoman said: “Last message gone out this morning, crews were unable to see affected area using binoculars.
“There are small pockets of smoke on the side of the hill we are observing, close to the cliff edge.
“We are going to remain on the scene.”
