The former chief executive of an Angus youth charity has made a further court appearance to deny embezzling almost £35,000 over more than six years.
Richard Murray, 55, of Courthillock Gardens, Kirriemuir, appeared before Sheriff Gregor Murray at Forfar on Tuesday.
He faces a single charge that he embezzled £34,495 between April 1 2008 and July 31 2014 while he was chief executive officer of Rossie Young Peoples Trust.
The offence is alleged to have taken place at Rossie, near Montrose; Murray’s Kirriemuir home and elsewhere.
Murray had originally been due to go to trial in June last year but a number of factors have delayed proceedings.
The court previously heard it described as a complex case.
Defence solicitor Billy Rennie told Sheriff Murray there had recently been a change of agency in the matter and he was not fully prepared for a trial scheduled to take place next month.
He confirmed his client was maintaining his not guilty plea.
The sheriff set a further notional trial diet in the case for June 11.
