Looking for a new challenge? The Duke of Rothesay is seeking an “exceptional” head gardener for his private garden at Birkhall on the Balmoral Estate.
The Hijobs advert, which has been online for under 24 hours and already has 608 views, states that the applicant must be “passionate about horticulture and organic practices”.
“An exciting opportunity has arisen within HRH The Duke of Rothesay’s private garden at Birkhall in rural Deeside,” the advert says.

“The grounds are set in 22 acres of woodland and include formal gardens, lawns and an arboretum.
“We are looking to recruit a head gardener with exceptional skills and experience to maintain and develop the estate and garden.”
More than three years ago Storm Frank caused devastation to the two-acre gardens, washing away large parts of the lovingly-restored land.
At the time a Clarence House spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that the garden has been devastated but we don’t want to comment further because the Prince wants the focus to be on the terrible losses suffered by others.”
There have been 49 applicants for the job so far.
