Trial judge Lord Pentland branded Steven Donaldson’s murderers as “cold-blooded, violent and unrepentant”.
Lord Pentland said the crime had involved “unrestrained ferocity” as he jailed Dickie and Davidson for life, with minimum terms of 23 and 24 years respectively.
He told the evil pair: “The victim impact information describes a lasting devastation that each of you have caused to the parents, sisters and other family members.”
Describing Mr Donaldson as a “loved and admired young man who had established a successful career”, Lord Pentland condemned the callous duo for the horror their actions caused.
“Your crimes caused shock and outrage in the Angus area,” he said.
“No sentence I impose will repair the grievous loss you have caused by taking the life of this young man.”
Lord Pentland said there had been several aggravating factors in the conduct of Dickie and Davidson.
“The violence was sustained and prolonged, and you carried out attacks at two different locations.”
He said the pair had abducted their victim at the Kirrie Hill car park before driving him to Kinnordy Loch.
There, the judge added: “You cut him down without mercy.
“It is important to bear in mind that Mr Donaldson did neither of you any harm whatsoever.”
“What I am left with is a clear picture demonstrating that you are both cold-blooded, violent and unrepentant.”
Lord Pentland branded Glass a “manipulative and devious” killer for her part in the plan which led to the brutal death of Steven Donaldson.
“It is clear you instigated the attack on Mr Donaldson,” he told the 20-year-old single mum.
“You strung him along. There was clear evidence of planning and deliberation on your part,” Lord Pentland said.
“You knew that Dickie and Davidson had obtained weapons, you drove them to the area near the playpark.
“In truth your plan was for your two co-accused to set upon him so you could get him out of your life.”
Mr Donaldson, the judge said, had been led to the murderous attack by the “duplicity” of Glass.
“With chilling coolness you then drove home,” Lord Pentland continued.
“Without your influence the further attack would not have taken place.”
