The livestock entries for this year’s Angus Show at Brechin may have fallen foul of the torrential downpours last week, but visitors enjoyed a packed programme of events on Saturday.
As well as the trade stands, the afternoon programme included a tug o’ war competition, pig racing and children’s racing, among others.
Away from the main ring there were events for all the family. Members of the Angus Cycle Hub provided some bicycle-related fun, The Creation Station was on hand with crafts for the kids and Careston Carvings produced some stunning wood carvings throughout the day.
There was Highland dancing and vintage vehicles, a dog show, goat competition and a fun fair.
Unfortunately, the committee had to take the difficult decision to cancel all sheep, cattle, native and light legged horses sections which were due to take place on the Saturday, although the tractor pulling still took place on Friday and Saturday.
