A 23-year-old man has appeared in Forfar Sheriff Court charged with murder.
Keith Rizzo, Brechin, made no plea as he was accused of the murder of Neomi Smith, 23, who died in a property on Swan Street at 1.30am on Sunday, June 9.
Ms Smith, also 23, succumbed to her injuries in the property in the early hours of Sunday morning after emergency service workers were unable to save her.
The murder accused made no plea to the charge and was remanded in custody.
