A Tayside animal re-homing centre has issued a plea for locals to come forward and offer one of their moggies a home.
Tootsie the cat has been in the care of the Scottish SPCA for 112 days – almost three months of which have been spent at the charity’s Petterden centre just north of Dundee.
Staff at the Angus, Fife and Tayside Animal Rescue and Re-homing Centre say they are “desperate” to find her a family.
Tootsie came into their care pregnant and all her kittens have now found homes.
Elliot Hay, manager of the centre, said: “Poor Tootsie has been with us for almost three months and we are determined to find her perfect home.
“She was pregnant when she came into our care and after raising her kittens, they went off to find their forever homes. Sadly, Tootsie’s happy ever after hasn’t arrived yet.
“She is full of attitude and although she does welcome attention she will let you know when she’s had enough.
“Tootsie would ideally be suited to an owner experienced with temperamental cats.
“We think a quiet home with no children or other animals would suit her best so she can continue to come out of her shell.
“A farm environment where she could come and go as she pleases would be ideal for this girl.”
Anyone who is interested in giving Tootsie a home should call the Scottish SPCA on 03000 999 999.
