Angus police have issued a warning following recent reports of youngsters scaling town centre buildings.
It follows incidents in Forfar, Kirriemuir and Arbroath including a youngster falling through the roof of a charity shop.
A police spokesman said: “We cannot stress enough how dangerous incidents of the nature are.
“You can seriously injure yourself or lose your life.
“We ask owners to consider the security of buildings too.”
Police have already issued a warning about children climbing on to the roof of Forfar’s empty Lochside Leisure Centre, and being on the site of the old Forfar Academy, both recently replaced by the town’s new community campus.
Staff at the Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland shop in Forfar were left “shocked” and “devastated” after they found the rear of the building badly damaged in May.
They initially thought the building had been targeted by thieves.
It later emerged the ongoing craze of youths climbing on the roofs of Castle Street buildings had resulted in near fatal consequences.
A group of youths ran across the roof before one of them fell through it.
In April, police also issued a warning after youths were seen climbing on a wall in Brechin – amid reports of similar activity in two other buildings in the Angus town.
Images published on social media showed three youngsters walking precariously along a wall on Southesk Street, running parallel to the Lidl car park near to the corner of Commerce Street.
