Police are attempting to trace the driver of a car which struck a five-year-old girl in an Angus town.
The incident took place on Ravensby Road, Carnoustie, on Monday, July 22 at about 8.30pm.
The woman who was driving the car, which is described as a small blue Volkswagen, stopped to assist the girl following the incident and spoke with her mother.
The youngster was not seriously injured.
Police say the collision was not a hit-and-run and that they only want to obtain further information on the collision.
A statement from Tayside Police Division reads: “A small blue car, similar to a VW Polo or Golf, was involved in a collision with a five-year-old girl. Fortunately she was not seriously injured.
“The driver of the car, a woman in her 30s wearing a blue uniform of some kind, did stop at the scene and gave initial care to the girl and spoke with her mother.
“We would like to stress that this is not a ‘hit and run’ incident, and we wish to trace the driver involved in order to obtain relevant information about the collision, and also to ensure her own welfare.
