A 34-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries following an Angus hit-and-run.
The pedestrian was struck in Brechin’s City Road around 2.15am on Sunday.
They are hunting the driver of a Renault car involved in the incident.
Police Scotland said the hit-and-run happened in City Road, Brechin, near its junction with Damacre Road.
A spokesman said it involved a silver Renault Clio and a 34-year-old male who was taken to Ninewells Hospital with serious injuries.
“City Road is currently closed to allow officers to carry out a full investigation,” the spokesman added.
“If anybody witnessed the collision, saw the vehicle in Brechin or has any information or dash cam footage then Police would like to speak to them as a matter of urgency.
