Police have renewed an appeal over a suspected Angus hit-and-run whose victim is still being treated for serious injuries in hospital.
The 34-year-old local man was rushed to Ninewells after being struck by a car in Brechin’s City Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Detectives say they are following positive lines of inquiry and have carried out extensive door-to-door enquiries and reviewed local CCTV.
But they remain hopeful the public could provide vital clues.
The man suffered serious injuries after being involved in the collision with a silver Renault Clio at 2.25am on Sunday.
Detective Sergeant Lucy Cameron said: ”We are following positive lines of inquiries but are still appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident.
“Officers have reviewed CCTV and are still carrying out door to door enquiries in thearea, but would ask anyone who saw the collision to come forward.”
Motorists had been urged to come forward with any dashcam footage they may have captured in the area around that time.
Anyone with any information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting CR/21670/19 or speak to any police officers.
“Alternatively if you have any information about the incident you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous Online Form at crimestoppers-uk.org,” said Det Sgt Cameron.
