Firefighters are tackling a farm vehicle which is ablaze just off the A92 near Carnoustie.
The call was received by the emergency services around 12.25pm.
Witnesses spoke of seeing huge plumes of smoke between Monifieth and Carnoustie.
Nobody is thought to have been injured as a result.
