Firefighters were called to Arbroath’s West Port on Wednesday to help make a building safe.
Masonry had fallen from the block of flats in Keptie Street and the road was closed off with a cordon put up.
Two appliances including a high reach appliance attended the scene just before 1.30pm after the matter was reported to the emergency services.
Firefighters removed the masonry from the roof which had broken away while a crowd of onlookers watched on from the other side of the pavement.
The operation was completed just before 2.55pm.
One appliance remained at the scene for a short time.
