A young Angus drink-driver has admitted wasting police time after claiming her car had been stolen from outside her front door before it was involved in a seaside crash.
Leah Soave, 23, of Marine Court, Arbroath, appeared before Sheriff Gregor Murray at Forfar where she admitted driving with excess alcohol in King’s Drive, Arbroath, and failing to stop after colliding with roadside barriers on August 30.
Soave was more than twice the legal limit.
She also admitted telling police her vehicle had been stolen from outside her home.
Sentence was deferred until October 24 for a background report and Sheriff Murray imposed an interim driving ban on Soave.
