A woman has been cleared of breaking bail and intimidating a trial witness by meowing at him in the street.
Iain Cruikshank, 37, told a court yesterday Kimberley Bruce had approached him in the street and aimed cat noises in his direction.
He told Perth Sheriff Court: “They walked past us two or three times and made comments. It was a cat noise – ‘meow, meow’.
“I knew it was something against me. It was just meow, meow, meow.
“I just assumed it was for me.”
Fiscal depute Tina Dickie said: “The meowing noises are a clear attempt to communicate with and intimidate the witnesses and therefore it is a breach of bail.”

Daniel Hughes, 28, Allan Street, Blairgowrie, denied breaking a bail condition not to approach Mr Cruikshank by communicating with him on July 8.
Bruce, 32, Arthur Street, Blairgowrie, denied breaching bail imposed on 25 April by repeatedly approaching Mr Cruikshank in Blairgowrie on July 8.
After a trial lasting around 30 minutes, Sheriff Christopher Shead cleared both and said: “I will give you the benefit of the doubt and find you not guilty.”
Hughes and Bruce have both been convicted in relation to the original fracas which led to them being placed on bail.
Hughes was jailed and Bruce was placed on a community payback order.
