A hospital chef brandished a meat cleaver and a carving fork at joiners in his block of flats.
James Cochrane admitted he behaved in a threatening and abusive manner at Wiston Place on November 1 after he became irate due to the noise the workers were making
Dundee Sheriff Court heard Cochrane was attacked by one of the joiners working in a flat below his property.
After initially leaving the scene, the 30-year-old returned armed with two weapons and challenged the men to a fight.
Sheriff Jillian Martin-Brown deferred sentencing until January 13 for an assessment of Cochrane’s suitability to take part in Tayside Council on Alcohol’s rehabilitation programme.
