A man has been arrested following suspicions he was on a Dundee street to commit theft.
The 35-year-old was found in the Gotterstone area early on Tuesday morning carrying tools which officers said “could be used to commit housebreaking-type crimes”.
Police allege he was “there to commit theft”.
He is due to appear in Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
A release from Tayside Police Division reads: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 35-year-old man was arrested in the Gotterstone area of West Ferry, Dundee, in the early hours of this morning having been found in circumstances which indicated he was there to commit theft.
“He was also carrying tools which could be used to commit housebreaking-type crimes.
“He has been charged and is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court later today (December 24).
“We would like to thank the vigilant residents who contacted us regarding this man, which enabled us to trace and arrest him quickly.”
