An Angus man manhandled a car seat containing a newborn baby after flying into a rage.
Corrie Anderson pled guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting, swearing, acting in an aggressive manner and pulling at a child’s car seat with a three-week-old baby in it.
The child was said to have become upset during the incident, which happened in Arbroath some time on December 31 2015 or January 1 2016.
Anderson, 24, also assaulted his mother in the town on January 1 2016.
He seized her by the body, pushed her on the body and caused her to fall on to a bed.
On the same date and at the same location he also shouted, swore, acted in an aggressive manner and caused damage to a TV by repeatedly punching it.
Anderson was acquitted of a charge alleging he wilfully neglected another newborn baby between October 22 and November 26 2016 by failing to seek medical help for the child at a time when urgent medical attention was needed.
Allegations that he exposed the baby, then aged between six and 11 weeks to “conditions by which he sustained by means unknown blunt force trauma to his body” including broken ribs, arm and leg, were deleted from the charge.
Sheriff John Rafferty said he was considering supervision for Anderson, of Thomas Place in Arbroath.
He deferred sentencing until March 27.
