Five men have been charged with an alleged hare-coursing incident in the Angus countryside.
Police say they were arrested in connection with taking part in the bloodsport in Menmuir on Sunday, February 2.
The five men – who hail from Aberdeen and Macduff – are aged 23, 26, 39, 49 and 52. They have been released from custody and are due to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court at a future date.
The 49-year-old man has also been charged in connection with a road traffic offence.
Hunting hares using dogs is illegal. The animals are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and the Protection Of Wild Mammals (Scotland) Act 2002.
