A 33-year old man has appeared in Dundee Sheriff Court on a murder charge. Stephen Robbins, of City Road, appeared in private on Tuesday and made no plea. It has been alleged Robbins assaulted Ryan Barrie, 39, on March 1 and the resultant injuries led to his death at Benvie Gardens. Robbins was remanded in custody and is due to appear again in court next week. Police were called during the early hours of Sunday morning and cordoned off the street. Tributes have been paid online to Mr Barrie, who was commonly known as Mini among his friends. He was a popular DJ in Dundee and a big part of the music scene across the city. Flowers were left on a bin lying by a tent erected by police on Monday. One neighbour paid tribute to Mr Barrie after his death, describing him as a “bouncy, friendly guy”.
