A 42-year-old man has been accused of sending an explicit photograph to a police officer posing as a child called Jack.
Anthony Duncan allegedly sent the sexually graphic image in the belief that he was in contact with a child aged under 16, unaware it was a fake account being operated by the force.
Duncan, who works for Aviva in Perth, appeared in private at Perth Sheriff Court to face a petition which also alleged he had child abuse images.
Duncan, of Hospital Street, Perth, made a brief appearance in private and the case against him was continued for further examination.
It is alleged that between December 31 and January 7 this year he sent an obscene image for the purposes of “obtaining sexual gratification”.
The charge alleges that he sent the image to an officer of the South East Regional Crime Unit, believing them to be a schoolgirl who called herself Jack.
He also faces two charges relating to child abuse images on March 3 and a final charge which alleges he had cannabis on the same date.
Duncan made no plea on Wednesday and was freed on bail with a number of conditions restricting his use of the internet.
