A Pitlochry man bit his partner’s face and threatened to stab her because she had saved another man’s number in her phone using the phrase “my fave”.

Andrew Kennedy demanded “what about me?” after checking his victim’s phone.

He then threatened to “put a knife in her back” as she packed to leave the property.

Yesterday at Perth Sheriff Court the 54-year-old was ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work as punishment.

Depute fiscal Carol Doharty told the court that the pair had a friend stay overnight but the woman had taken them to the train station.

She said: “When she returned the accused confronted her in an aggressive manner.

“He seized her jacket sleeve and pulled her into the living room.

“The accused picked up the complainer’s phone and said ‘Craig, my fave – what about me?’.

“The complainer stated it was just a name in a phone.”

When Kennedy continued to be aggressive the woman went to pack a bag but he followed and told her to “get out” because he would “put a knife in her back”.

Solicitor Pauline Cullerton, defending, said the self-employed painter and decorator had been drinking but was “ashamed” to find himself in court.

Kennedy, of Leslie Place, Pitlochry, admitted assaulting the woman by seizing her clothing and biting her on the face at a property in Pitlochry on February 9.

He further admitted behaving in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting, swearing, brandishing a bottle and uttering threats.
