A newly qualified driver who smashed into two cars and drove off was found to be more than four times over the legal alcohol limit.
Amanda Ghekis, 36, crashed and fled the scene near her home just a few weeks after passing her driving test.
She was banned from the road for two years and fined £1,000 when she admitted the offences at Perth Sheriff Court.
Depute fiscal Robbie Brown told the court: “Calls were received that two vehicles had been struck. The driver appeared heavily under the influence. The police found that the accused’s vehicle had significant damage.
“She was – not surprisingly given the level of the reading – smelling strongly of alcohol.”
Ghekis, of Kestrel Way, Perth, admitted drink-driving and colliding with a BMW 318 and a Vauxhall Astra, and failing to report the accident, on August 31.
Sheriff Lindsay Foulis said: “She had only been driving unsupervised for four months.”
