A man accused of murdering a pensioner in Fife has made a second appearance in court. Trevor Kidd is alleged to have killed the 74-year-old woman in Kirkcaldy flat. He appeared in the town’s sheriff court in private on Tuesday. Kidd, 41, made no plea to the charge of murder in the petition against him. He was fully committed for trial and remanded in custody. Police previously confirmed they were called to a flat in James Grove at around 4.50pm on March 19. Both Kidd and the deceased woman are believed to have lived in the property, near Kirkcaldy town centre. Kidd, whose address was given only as Kirkcaldy, initially appeared in the same court last Monday. He made no plea during that appearance either, when his case was continued for further examination. Neighbours in the quiet residential street told of their shock at news of the woman’s death. One said there were several police officers at the flat for some time after the alarm was raised. A date for Kidd’s next court appearance is yet to be confirmed.
