A man is to face trial, accused of pushing a woman down stairs, stabbing himself in the forehead with a pair of scissors, and smearing blood over the inside of a police van.
Mark Wilding, 45, is said to have repeatedly stabbed himself in the forehead with the implements in a series of alleged incidents, in Kennoway, Fife, in which he also pushed the woman down a flight of stairs, Falkirk Sheriff Court heard.
He is also accused of obstructing two police constables, threatening to spit on them and lashing out with his legs.
A not guilty plea was tendered on Wilding’s behalf.
Sheriff Derek Livingston granted bail and set trial for September 18 at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.
