A Perthshire pensioner has been accused of monitoring his partner’s conversations during a campaign of coercive domestic abuse lasting more than a year.
John Kiel, 65, is alleged to have removed the woman’s electricity supply and prevented her from having access to motor vehicles.
Kiel, from Inchture, appearing from custody at Dundee Sheriff Court on Friday, also denied threatening his son with violence.
He denied that between January 1 2019 and April 22 this year he engaged in a course of abusive behaviour towards his partner at Bogmiln Farmhouse.
It is alleged he repeatedly loitered, monitored and listened to her conversations, removed her electricity supply and struck household items.
He is alleged to have shouted at her and uttered offensive comments, as well as preventing her from having access to motor vehicles.
Kiel denied shouting and swearing at his 23-year-old son and threatening him with violence on April 22.
He was granted bail with special conditions not to enter the farmhouse or approach the complainers.
