A stalker who plagued a complete stranger for six years has been branded a danger to all women and jailed for 21 months.
Darren Shields ignored a life ban to keep tormenting his victim with unwanted attention. She described how the ordeal has left her terrified.
Sheriff Lorna Drummond placed him on a sexual offences prevention order for 10 years and added his name to the sex offenders register for the same duration.
Shields’ own solicitor, David Duncan, told Dundee Sheriff Court his client was so entrenched in his views that prison would make no difference to him.
Shields, 35, from Dundee, admitted sending obscene messages to the woman’s Facebook page last October, in defiance of an ASBO preventing him from contacting her.
