Man, 21, faces driving and drug charges after car crashes off Dundee road, nearly hitting woman

A man has been charged with drugs and driving offences following a car crash in Dundee.

Police were called after a blue Mercedes C-Class collided with two lampposts on the city’s Explorer Road before landing in a hedge on Thursday.

A 21-year-old man was subsequently charged after officers allegedly recovered cocaine and cannabis from the vehicle.

He was also charged with driving offences.

Police say the car narrowly avoiding striking a 73-year-old woman, who was injured as she moved to avoid it.

Officers claim she narrowly avoided serious injury.

The man is due in court at a future date.
