A 30-year-old man accused of raping three women is alleged to have hurled chips and sauce at one of them and smashed another one in the face with a door.
Dean Gillespie, who is alleged to have raped two of his victims while they were sleeping, was freed on bail after a brief appearance at Dundee Sheriff Court on Friday.
Gillespie, of Shepherd’s Loan, Dundee, is alleged to have carried out the attacks at addresses around the city between October 1 2018 and March 10 this year.
The nine-charge petition alleges that Gillespie raped the first woman while she was sleeping in the east of the city between October 1 and November 7 2018.
It is alleged that on various occasions between July 1 2018 and January 31 2019 he threatened to kill her, made derogatory remarks towards her, and threw furniture against walls.
Gillespie is alleged to have nipped her on the body, grabbed her by the neck and restricted her breathing, as well as throwing objects and liquid over her between October 2018 and January 31 2019.
He is also alleged to have thrown chips and sauce at her in the west of the city between October 1 and November 7 2018.
Gillespie, who made no plea, is alleged to have raped a second woman at a central Dundee address on March 6 last year.
He is alleged to have engaged in a course of conduct towards a third woman between April 2019 and March 2020 which was controlling and aggressive.
That charge alleges he grabbed her, wrestled her, punched her, bit her on the face to her injury, locked her in a room against her will and hit her on the face and body with a door.
It is alleged that between April 20 and May 20 2019 he raped the third woman.
A further charge alleges that he raped her again – this time while she was sleeping at an address in the city – between November 1 2019 and March 10 2020.
It is alleged that on March 10 this year, Gillespie grabbed hold of her throat, applied pressure, restricted her breathing, pushed her and caused her to fall, to her injury.
Gillespie had the case against him continued for further examination and was granted bail by Sheriff George Way.
