A Fife man who threatened to stab NHS staff and spit on police, saying he had Covid-19 and Hepatitis C, has been jailed for a year.
Daniel Docherty, 35, who also kicked a police support officer, had been taken to hospital by officers.
Falkirk Sheriff Court heard they had been called to an address in Lochgelly to deal with another matter and found Docherty there under the influence of drugs.
He was arrested and taken to Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, where he threatened staff.
He was then taken to Dunfermline Police Station where he abused the officers.
Docherty, of Robert Smith Court, Lumphinnans, pled guilty to being threatening and abusive and uttering threats of violence to NHS staff; being threatening and abusive at Dunfermline Police Station; and resisting, obstructing and hindering police, whereby Police Support Officer Makeyan McKeague was struck on the body, on April 17.
