A man has appeared in court after a baby was left with life changing injuries in Glenrothes. Police were called to a house in Minto Crescent on June 5 after a report of concern for a youngster, who was 11 weeks old at the time. The infant was taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh, where he was said to be in a critical condition. The baby is still being treated in hospital and it is understood he has suffered long-term effects. Police, who carried out investigations at the house for around a week, confirmed a man had been arrested and charged. A spokesperson said: “We received a report of concern for an infant child at 9am on Friday June 5 at Minto Crescent in Glenrothes. “The child was taken to hospital in Edinburgh with life threatening injuries. “A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. “He appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Friday June 26.”
