A man has appeared in court in connection with an alleged robbery at a petrol station in Leven.
Jamie Boyd, 33, appeared in private at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday.
Boyd, who is local to the town, faces a charge of assault and robbery, and has also been charged with carrying an offensive weapon in a public place.
He made no plea and the case was committed for further examination.
The accused was remanded in custody and is expected to make a further appearance in court within the next week.
Boyd was arrested following an incident which happened at the BP Petrol Station in Windygates Road, Leven, at around 12.30am on Friday.
Police launched an appeal for information and witnesses after it was reported that a man entered the store by the forecourt, assaulted staff and left with a three figure sum of cash.
Detective Sergeant Mark Millar from Methil Police Station said: “We would like to thank the local community for their positive response to the appeal for information.”
