A top junior footballer could face a showdown with club bosses after being convicted of cocaine possession.
Barry Sibanda, a St Andrews United forward, pled guilty to having the Class A drug at an address in the town’s St Mary’s Place.
The 28-year-old, of Stratheden Park, Cupar, was fined £140 at Dundee Sheriff Court for the offence on July 17 last year, his first criminal conviction.
A spokesman for St Andrews United said the club had been unaware of the charges and would have to look into the matter.
Sibanda has a record of one goal every two games, having scored more than 30 times for the East Region Super League club.
