A man is to stand trial accused of murder in a Dundee block of flats just two days before Christmas. Adis Minakovskis is alleged to have fatally assaulted Aigars Upenieks on December 23. The 24-year-old appeared in the High Court in Glasgow where the case was committed for trial. He will appear again for trial at the High Court in Edinburgh this summer. Court papers alleged that Minakovis attacked his victim in Thurso Crescent and that he struggled with Mr Upenieks before striking him with a knife. He is then alleged to have chased him into the close and repeatedly struck him again. Minakovskis was remanded in custody.
