A Kirkcaldy man has been ordered to pay his victim compensation after punching him at New Year. Duncan Hutchison, 27, of Dunnikier Road, punched Christopher Elliot on the head to his injury at Kirkcaldy Bus Station on January 3. He admitted carrying out the assault during an appearance at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court. Mr Elliot suffered facial injuries and required dental treatment as a result of the attack, which happened in the early hours. Police Scotland traced and arrested Hutchison last month. The force had issued a CCTV image and appealed for the public’s help in tracking him down. Hutchison was ordered to pay £400 in compensation.
